Orthodontic treatmen
TREATMENT CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING STAGES:
1. Diagnostic stage: survey, removal of molds of jaws, anthropometrical analysis of models of jaws, radiographic research, calculation of a design of the device, treatment scheduling.
2. Preparatory stage: sanitation of an oral cavity, prevention, surgical manipulations (if necessary).
3. Main (medical) stage: production of the device, fixing of the device, regular supervision and correction. Stage duration from 1 year to 5 years, frequency of visits 1-2 times a month.
4. Retentsionny stage: stabilization of results of treatment. Duration - several years as required.
If necessary the orthodontist appoints carrying out sanitation of an oral cavity before orthodontic treatment, i.e. treatment of the available diseases (caries, a pulpitis, etc.) and performance of hygienic and preventive events (cleaning of tooth deposits, fluoration of teeth, etc.) which are held by the corresponding experts.
In certain cases surgical interventions are necessary for successful carrying out orthodontic treatment: removal of teeth, plasticity of bridles of lips and language, exposure of retinirovanny tooth, deepening of a threshold of an oral cavity. The doctor coordinates all these appointments with the patient or with his parents (to 18 years). For carrying out surgeries the doctor can send the patient to other medical institution.
The result of orthodontic treatment depends in a decisive way on active participation of the patient. Having agreed to treatment, the patient (his parents) assign to themselves obligations which non-compliance does orthodontic treatment or useless, or even hazardous to health.
